Helpful tips to get the most from Index Card for iPhone.
- Word Select: You can select a word by double-tapping it, and select more or less text by dragging the grab points.
- Paragraph Select: Tapping on a paragraph with 2 fingers will select the entire paragraph.
- Open in Safari: If the selected text is a URL, including http://, the popover will display an option to open the page in Safari app.
- Send Mail: If the selected text is an email address, the popover will display an option to compose a mail to the address.
- Stack Count Indicator: Stacks in the card list display a count of how many cards they contain.
- Card Flow: Turn your device landscape when viewing a project's list of cards, and you can view cards full screen.
- Scroll to Top: Tap the status bar (where the time is displayed) to scroll to the top of your card list.
- Scroll to Bottom: Tap the toolbar (where card count is displayed) to scroll to the bottom of your card list.
- Stats: Access via the Info button on the menu bar. See basic info, like project and card count.
- Period Space: Tap the space bar with 2 fingers to insert a period and space.
- Rename a Project: When viewing your project list, tap the detail disclosure button (blue circle >) next to the project you wish to rename.
- Project Word & Character Count: An extra row at the bottom of your card list displays the word and character count for your project.
- Special Characters: Touch and hold a letter using the onscreen keyboard to reveal a list of special characters.
- Quick Period: Tap the space bar twice, and your device adds a period and capitalizes the next word.
- Quick Number Symbol: To enter a number or symbol quickly, touch and hold '123', then select the key you want. Lifting your finger returns you to the alphabet keyboard.
- Shortcuts: You can define text abbreviations to be expanded automatically to full text. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard: Shortcuts.
- Dictation: Tap the microphone icon on your iPhone 4S to enable dictation of card text.
